About

01 about

Any designer will tell you that all aspects of everyday life are impacted by the designed environment. Whether it be through a functional kitchen object, a chair we sit in, or way-finding as we walk down the street to fetch coffee, this remains true. The impacts are mostly subliminal and just as commonly negative as they are positive. It has always been important to me to study, explore, and create throughout this same range naturally experienced in daily life, with the goal of understanding how to design with intention. That exploration started at a young age and continued into my professional career working on and creating projects ranging from household items to large scale new buildings. It is my belief that when executed well, a good design can greatly improve people's lives.

We just have to create it.

I attended Kansas State University and received a Master's Degree in Interior Architecture and Product Design in 2011. IAPD is one of three programs within the College of Architecture, Planning and Design and focuses on interior spaces, furniture, and products.

I spent my fifth and final year in Kansas City at the Kansas City Design Center (KCDC) studying Urban Planning and Design.

A portfolio of my student work is linked to the image below.

Beyond design, I am always interested in a trip to an art gallery, a bike ride, or any engrossing conversation about cats and/or houseplants over a beverage.
